Hazardous/Non-Hazardous Material

The identification, segregation, packaging, labeling, Transportation and Disposal (T&D) of EPA Hazardous/Non-Hazardous wastes is what Strong does everyday. Varied items such as waters, laboratory chemicals, compressed gas, reactives, oxidizers, organic/inorganic acids and other highly flammable and/or toxic compounds are either recycled by first choice or disposed if recovery is not a viable option.

Transportation

Our transportation logistics division provides for the secure shipment of materials ranging from small, non-hazardous (LTL) shipments to warehouse quantities of DEA Controlled Substances. High security protocol is contained within our Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and tailored to each task as needed. GPS tracking methods as well alternate routes are incorporated into high security shipments.

Anthrax

Strong is trained to handle biohazards. We successfully decontaminated several government sites exposed to Anthrax cross-contamination in the Washington, DC area. Project specific SOPs were developed to ensure safety and security of personnel, and facilitate the preservation of the material contained within each secure facility.

DEA Reverse Distributor Registrant

Strong Pharmaceutical Services (SPS), a division of SEI, offers witnessed destruction services, we transfer DEA ownership of your Controlled Substances to Strong, at your shipping docks. Therefore, we carry the liability during the transport and destruction of the Controlled Substances or Listed Chemicals to the disposal facility.
Furthermore, we offer direct shipments—direct from your facility to the destruction facility, eliminating third-party transfer points. Non-controlled wastes typically consist of consumer products and drugs, which may be expired, seized, off-specification, discontinued or otherwise unusable.

Witnessed Destruction

Strong offers complete witnessed destruction services utilizing a combination of SPS personnel with backgrounds including trained police and security personnel and Certified Hazardous Materials Managers (CHMM). Our witness destruction program incorporates production of affidavits, certificates of destruction, digital documentation of the entire transport and destruction process, and a final package for each shipment with all aspects of the project bound for future reference. In addition, SPS can also tailor its witness program to individual situational requirements.

Seizures

Strong manages the destruction of seized items from Autos to Zippos. Based on 2005 statistics, on average, the U.S. Customs and Border Protection and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement seized approximately $255,437 of commodities a day.
